PERSON CENTERED DISCOVERY

Finding out who and what is important to the person with whom you are planning. Exploring important relationships, community connections, faith-based associations, areas of interest, and talents can also help to identify additional potential support for desired outcomes.

SOFT/HARD SKILLS TRAINING

Soft skills are your traits and abilities not unique to any job – think collaboration, time management, empathy, leadership, or character traits and interpersonal skills that characterize a person’s relationship with other people.

Hard skills are learned abilities that let you tackle job-specific duties and responsibilities. Hard skills can be learned through practice, repetition, education, vocational training, and on the job. These skills are usually focused on specific tasks and processes such as the use of tools, equipment, or software.

TRIAL WORK EXPERIENCE

The exploration of an individual’s abilities, capabilities, and capacity to perform in realistic work situations and must be conducted prior to a determination that, due to the severity of the individual’s disability, the individual is incapable of benefiting from vocational rehabilitation services in terms of an employment outcome in an integrated setting.

JOB RETENTION

Individualized on-the-job-site training and support services that enable a customer to learn the essential functions of a job; meet the employer’s expected level of job performance; and retain their employment for an extended period of time.

INTENSIVE TRAINING SERVICES

One-on-one job skills training and support provided at the supported employment job site to enable a customer to:

  1. Attain job stabilization in on-the job performance with job supports
  2. Meet their employers expected levels of work productivity
  3. Transition to long-term Extended Services as provided by an entity
